Germination Station

Well got my germination station rocking and rolling now!! So far I've started marigolds, zinnias, lobelia, tons of varieties of tomatoes, broccoli, califlower, and some herbs. I use a heating pad on "medium" and that puts the temp about 85 degrees. The most intense things I have to germinate are of course my giant pumpkins. One seed I am starting this year is the 1161 Rodonis. A SINGLE 1161 RODONIS HAS AUCTIONED THIS WINTER FOR OVER $500. I received it free but it still puts the pressure on my ability to germinate the thing. I will do practice germinations before starting my pumpkins towards the end of April.

In other news, Blaine has been loving playing outside in this incredible weather we've been having (60's and 70's). Cold is on its way though with snow forecasted for later this week. :(

Very, very cool set up! One thing I dream about is having a house with a yard for a garden, although if we're still in Florida I'm not quite sure what would grow :) Looking forward to following your planting/growing progress!

Oh, he is so cute! I've never heard of a germination station but that looks so interesting I need to do some research.

Your germination station reminds me of my daughter, she keeps everything in her one bathroom, cranks the heat in that room and shuts the door. I remember well the years trying to start stuff in various spots with various "inventions", thirty years was a long wait for my Hippy Hot Hut and now I wanna another! This garden thing is down right addictive.

I'm so impressed/jealous that you have your seedlings on their way...I'm anxious to watch the progress of both of your pumpkins!

Awesome! I wish I had a special area to use to start seeds. We are checking out greenhouses though!

I am so jealous of your warm weather! I just want winter to be over already. Your germination station rocks! I am going to start my plants at the end of this month, with the hopes I can move them outside by June. Fingers crossed. That was some crazy hail you guys had!!
