PostPartum Weight Loss: RUNNING!
I gained 34 pounds in pregnancy. Those first 2 weeks after Blaine was born it was almost fun watching the scale drop. I even made a line graph and put it on the fridge as entertainment / motivation. 24 lbs came off no problemo. Then something funny happened. THE GRAPH FLAT-LINED. For 5 weeks now I haven't lost any weight! Grrrr. I'll admit I'm eating three times more than I did when I was pregnant; I'm just THAT HUNGRY! And I'm OK with that because I figure my body needs it to produce milk for babe. I've been walking, biking, doing push ups and crunches. But what I think I need to do to really drop the weight is start running. I hadn't started running yet because honestly, my body errr my boobs aren't what they used to be (which was non-existent). Well I used the trick my friend recommended (wearing 2 sports bras one size smaller than everyday wear) and today completed my first run since baby!! Actually it was my first run since LAST DECEMBER! YAYA!! I needed that because Lord knows I'm not giving up the brownies and peanut butter cups! ;)

I wouldn't stress about losing the weight - you only had the little guy 2 months ago! I had the same problem though - lost all but 10 pounds within 3 weeks. I still have 5 to go. :)
I lost all the weight except two pounds in about two weeks. Now I have gained back 5 pounds!! So I'm up 7 pounds overall and was about 5 pounds over my ideal (college) weight. Now I have to figure out how to lose the 12 since I don't believe in exercising or eating right! Good luck, huh?
well, you know those new boobs must weigh something.
I miss running so much! I can't wait to get back to it. Sounds like you are doing everything right....being active and enjoying food. I am sure the last of the weight will come off in no time. Its only been a couple of months (easy for me to say, I know!).
Same happened to me, and it has been a much slower decline these days...I have between 4-5 to loose now (and I'm 4 months out!). But...I remember with baby #1 that it seriously took 9 months, even with all the "baby weight" gone, to fit into stuff because the joints and ligiments needed to tighten back up. And by then I was even down a few pound from pre-baby weight from Breastfeeding. Don't worry at all, I promise it will go away, even with brownies and pb cups. Breastfeeding is a serious diet (I eat like a hog!), but just like any other it has it's plateaus.
Peggy's right, those boobs must weigh something. How are you feeling? Do you feel a lot better? Good for you to make sure you're healthy. I've heard of the sports bra layering trick before.
I went on the scale at my midwife appt yesterday, I'm 29 weeks in and 20 lbs up. Ack! Never weighed this much in my life!
